After speaking with several mid-to-senior designers who struggle with interviews, feedback loops, and visibility, I created a GPT tailored to guide them on demand.
The goal was clear: build a tool that feels like a design mentor, but with the speed and precision of AI. Something that helps you answer tough questions, structure your case studies, or run whiteboard sessions without second-guessing yourself.
Here the link to access and try it.
I used OpenAI’s Custom GPT builder to craft a model that understands the mindset, language, and expectations of U.S. tech companies. The setup includes:
Built-in frameworks to answer common interview prompts
Guidance for whiteboarding and async challenges
Feedback tones that adapt to the confidence level
Native English + optional Spanish responses
No-code setup, tested by real designers
This isn’t a generic AI. It’s designed for Product Designers navigating mid-to-senior transitions—especially in competitive, remote-first environments.
Building this GPT reminded me that AI, when used intentionally, can become more than just a shortcut—it can be a real learning companion. What made the difference here wasn’t the tech itself, but the way it was trained: with structure, clarity, and an understanding of what senior designers need. Most people don’t want fluffy answers or vague encouragement—they want practical tools that help them think, speak, and grow like senior professionals. This project showed me that with the right constraints and mindset, a custom GPT can deliver exactly that.
